A Reel Adventure

Residents from Alden Cambridge Oakdale joined Coromandel Charters Skipper and crew on a fishing adventure in February.Β

They departed Hannaford’s Wharf Te Kouma Rd, Coromandel Town, and travelled out of the harbour for about 45 minutes before dropping anchor and baiting hooks.

Any fishy tales told that day stayed on the boat, but Eric did share his fondest memories of fishing with his late wife. It was an emotional moment, but seeing a couple of dolphins swimming alongside the boat lifted the spirits of all onboard, and there were smiles all around. The group caught 40 snapper and released many more below-size fish to swim another day!

Coromandel Fishing hosts and owners Lorraine and Tom love helping people create memorable fishing experiences. Lorraine is a keen angler and passionate about catching fish. She enjoys taking photos of passengers and their catches during the trip. β€œThey say you don’t start work until you retire,” and she and Tom know how true this is!

Tom loves fishing and gets out on the boat whenever there is space. An accident put him into a wheelchair, and because of this, he has a passion for assisting people with disabilities and making dreams come true. Group organiser Oakdale volunteer Ivy says, β€œIt was a beautiful day, and the water was calm; our hosts and crew were amazing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and is keen to go again. In fact, Tim did go again, a week later!”

  1. Hello! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog.
Is it hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out
pretty quick. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Many thanks

  2. My family members always say that I am killing my time
here at web, except I know I am getting familiarity all the time by reading thes nice articles
    or reviews.
